Epic Southwest Road Trip: 4 Days Through Zion, Antelope Canyon, Grand Canyon & Las Vegas

From soaring canyon walls to desert bends and neon lights, this four-day road trip captures the raw beauty and contrast of the American Southwest. Adventure, scale and unforgettable landscapes define every stop.
Day 1 — Los Angeles to Zion National Park
After driving from Los Angeles into Utah’s red-rock country, Zion National Park delivers immediate impact. In the afternoon heat, we chose shorter hikes to ease into the landscape.
The Canyon Overlook Trail rewarded us with panoramic views, while the Watchman Trail offered a closer look at Zion’s sandstone cliffs.
Dinner at Oscar’s Café in Zion was bright, busy and generous — classic Tex-Mex comfort food after a long drive.
Stay: Fairfield Inn & Suites Virgin Zion National Park

Day 2 — Zion Narrows & Horseshoe Bend
The highlight of the morning was hiking The Narrows — wading through the Virgin River, framed by towering canyon walls.
We hiked two hours in and two hours out, immersed in cool water, shifting light and dramatic stone. Effort met wonder at every turn.
For those not hiking the river, the paved riverside walk still offers a powerful sense of scale.
In the afternoon, we drove to Page, Arizona, to visit Horseshoe Bend. Standing high above the Colorado River, the curve of water and stone is astonishing in its scale and beauty.
Stay: Hyatt Place Page / Lake Powell

Day 3 — Antelope Ridge & the Grand Canyon
The morning began with a guided Via Ferrata climb at Antelope Ridge Adventure Park. Climbing inside the canyon — using ladders, cables and footholds — offered an exhilarating perspective rarely seen.
Our guides balanced safety and challenge perfectly, making the experience both thrilling and accessible.
In the afternoon, we drove to the Grand Canyon South Rim. We chose a rim walk, covering several kilometres and taking in sweeping views of the vast canyon below.
Stay: Holiday Inn at the Squire, Tusayan

Day 4 — Route 66 to Las Vegas
Leaving the Grand Canyon early allowed time for classic Route 66 stops. Seligman and Kingman delivered pure Americana — retro diners, vintage signs and nostalgic charm.
A stop at the Hoover Dam Memorial Bridge overlook offered epic views before continuing on to Las Vegas.
Las Vegas arrived in full contrast — fountains, canals, live shows and glowing neon. From the Bellagio Conservatory to Cirque du Soleil’s Michael Jackson ONE, the city delivered spectacle at every turn.
Stay: Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino
